I actually say both.

We have traveled extensively throughout Italy and had yet to explore the north. We chose Piemonte's Torino, the first capital of unified Italy, for a taste of this part of the country in the week around New Year 2010. We also took a train to Milano for one night to see its famous duomo.

Piemonte is known for Fiat, Barolo, the House of Savoy, Lavazza, and Slow Food just to name a few. With the Alps as its majestic backdrop, it is an elegant capital of art, culture, wine, and is a food lover's paradise!
